New Contract in Sri Lanka
We are thrilled to announce that Hirdaramani Group, a leader in apparel manufacturing and sustainability, has selected WaterNext as its supplier for the effluent treatment and wastewater recovery plant for its latest venture, ‘Mihila Tex’, a state-of-the-art textile mill in Pannala, Sri Lanka. Continuing their commitment to sustainable apparel manufacturing, Hirdaramani conducted an in-depth evaluation ahead of the selection, including site visits to WaterNext’s installations in India and Sri Lanka. Significantly, Hirdaramani’s ‘Mihila Tex’ project will be one of Sri Lanka’s pioneering state-of-the-art effluent treatment plant installations. It additionally utilises advanced biological treatment with MBR technology and reverse osmosis, enabling water reuse within the textile process house at a very low operating cost.
‘Mihila Tex’, an investment of USD 30Mn is part of the Hirdaramani Group’s long-term strategy to strategically grow its apparel business in Sri Lanka and strengthen its local value chain. The mill will integrate the latest advancements in sustainable technologies and practices to minimise energy consumption, reduce waste generation, minimise water consumption, and optimise resource management.
